Plaintiff, age 87 on the date of the accident, was walking in a crosswalk on the way to the local senior center when she was struck by the side mirror of a school van that failed to observe plaintiff. She was taken by ambulance to the hospital, where she had a reduction and fixation of a femur fracture and insertion of an intramedullary rod. Plaintiff made a full recovery, and returned to walking to the senior center within 7 months of the accident. Amy Rosenbloom settled the case for $500,000 before trial.
