47 year old pedestrian struck

Plaintiff was a pedestrian
in a crosswalk attempting to cross the street when she was struck
by a New York City fire truck that was making a left turn. The fire
truck was not on an emergency run. Plaintiff sustained a concussion.
As a result she suffered a post-concussion syndrome and minor cognitive
deficits. She also sustained a torn rotator cuff that required arthroscopic
surgery. As a result of her injuries plaintiff was unable to return
to work. Defendants claimed that plaintiff did not have any permanent
injuries. On the third day of trial Barry Weiss negotiated a $1,250,000
settlement. |
